I am first an artist. I have been painting for over forty years, and I love brilliant colors. Writing was my first love even before I thought of a career as an artist., and I never gave it up keeping journals and writing poetry whenever the inspiration struck me. There is a different color in words. When I am painting I try to allow my compositions to grow as life in nature grows. I have tried to do the same in my poetry.

Early Poems & Short Stories
From 1965 to 1975 I lived in a little house on a hill in the Mt. Washington area of Los Angeles with my first husband and son. I planned to be a writer then, & sat at the big round white table in the living room & wrote poems & short stories. I realized my ambition as painter, but I now look back on that early writing & see its value. I'm sure the young woman I was would appreciate that.
